MAI is an automotive assembly business with locations across the United States.
When they came to me for help, they were hoping for a small refresh of their WordPress site. MAI is frequently featured in business publications and wanted to update the copy and imagery. They initially wanted to update the content of the site’s homepage, but after discussing their goals, an entire redesign was more appropriate. The website was around 10 years old and no longer reflected the vision they had for the company’s future.
Design:
While a lot of the messaging of the site could stay the same, finding a way to make it stand out was the challenge. There were obvious changes to make from the beginning, like opting for a clean white background with bold fonts, instead of their existing black background. The typeface was chosen almost instantly because it gave off the automotive vibe. They had a goal of showcasing the company’s history and locations, so a timeline and plant location pages were designed. Because of their inclusion in business publications, their homepage is shown on websites and social media, so making a cool, metallic logo reveal video was a great way to capture attention.
Build:
Once all of the pages were designed and approved, they needed to be developed on WordPress. This website was designed with a certain theme in mind, so development was relatively quick.
Ongoing management:
Since launching, I provide monthly management for website updates, software upgrades, security audits. I consistently get great feedback regarding the website’s engagement.
